I have a degree in Mathematics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1985), a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1985), a Master's degree in Mathematics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1986-1987) and a Phd. in Mathematics \u2013 Universit\u00e9 Paul Sabatier- Toulouse III under the guidance of Professor Gilbert Levitt (1989-1993). I was Visiting Professor at \u00c9cole Normale Superieur de Lyon (1997 - 3 months) and Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Avignon (2009- 1 month and 2011- 1 month). I was Vice-Coordinator of the Licentiate and Bachelor of Mathematics courses at IME-UFF in the period 2004-2007, Deputy Head of the Department of Analysis (IME-UFF) in the biennium 2013-2014. My area of interest is Foliations Theory, working mainly on the following topics: topology of leaves of codimension 1 foliations in 3-manifolds, singular foliations in 3-manifolds and classifying spaces associated with foliations. Currently I have also been interested in using topology tools applied to data analysis problems, an area known as Topological Data Analysis.
